When I was a kid I loved coming home from school in summer, throwing open the fridge door, grabbing the Coca-Cola and pouring it over huge lumps of ice cream I’d scooped out into a cup.
I loved the sound of the bubbles fizzing and the way if you poured a little too much that it would froth over and you’d have to frantically slurp and slurp to make it a suitable level again.
A float with Coke, we’d called it. But we loved experimenting and adding any kind of soft drink.
My favourite was lime, hence the name, ‘Lime spider.’
Ah, childhood memories of summer. They were the best.
