The lady with the limp who only went two stops. The gaggle of schoolboys pushing and shoving and joking with each other. The businessman who always chewed gum and tapped away at his iPad.
I didn’t really need to commute. It was only about a 40 minute walk; 30 if I cut through the backstreets to avoid the traffic.
I think I just liked the comfort of knowing where I was in the world in time and space. At the same time I could dream away and get my writing done, all before I started work.
Today though I was simply riding the day away, going to new and unexplored places and wondering what the future held.
I could feel the beginnings of itchy feet. Spring always heralded such changes in me. I knew it was time to move on.
I was waiting… for someone to sit up and take notice of me.
