I wanted to devour everything I could find; everything I could lay my hands on.
One small problem: there wasn’t a lot of what I really wanted where I was. My next thought, was how was I going to get it? Desperate times call for desperate measures and I wondered just how desperate I was.

My mind began to run through the possibilities of acquiring what I needed.
My friends had been right. Finding the latest English books in a country like Japan was difficult.
But since I was starving, I was fairly sure I was prepared to do anything.
