30 Days of Gratitude Challenge: Day 9

What place am I most grateful for?

That’s easy.

In fact, for this one I actually have a favorite.

Hiroshima.

I am truly grateful for being given the opportunity to first visit Hiroshima back in 2013 and then to be given a job here in 2014. It’s been the first place I’ve lived in that I truly feel I belong. I haven’t felt the need to move and when I have gone overseas for a holiday, I’ve missed it so much that I’ve had a physical ache in my chest.

My friends and ‘family,’ here are some of the dearest things in the world to me and the gratitude I feel towards them is something I will never be able to accurately express in words.

Hiroshima is the City of Peace and shows that the human spirit can overcome anything and prosper, despite a terrible tragedy.

It’s my favorite place in the world and I’m forever grateful to be able to call it my home.
