152. Mind & Body:
He stared at the pamphlet in his hand.
“Mind & Body,” it read at the top. “Let us help you to find them.”
He wasn’t really sure if his were able to be found; he seemed to have lost both when he realised he was in love with Macy, but that was a whole other story.
The wording didn’t seem quite right to him. Maybe he was getting old. Maybe it made sense to a young person.
Young, he thought to himself. It was so much easier when I was young.
Young people had the world at their feet. They had both their mind and body in their grasp, but most of them tried hard to destroy through from an early age with alcohol, cigarettes or drugs. Or a combination of all three if they were really good at it.
Granted, the English might not have been perfect, but a weekend retreat on a tropical island somewhere in SE Asia seemed just the sort of thing he needed. Surely he could find both his mind and body there.
But then again, did he really want to find them? Sure he wanted a good body again, but he wasn’t sure he was quite ready to handle his mind again yet.
