365 Days Writing Prompt Challenge: Day 13

13. The Letter Poem:

As I read what he had written

In his letter to his dad,

I felt what he was feeling

And it made me really sad.

For he could not say it out loud

Yet he saw his father knew

That he loved his best friend, John

And his best friend loved him too.

So he sent the letter to him

And he waited anxiously

Convinced that he would hate him

For his ‘abnormality.’

But the father did not hate him

And he cried just like I had.

He loved his son no matter

And would always be his dad.

So the moral of this story

Is to love just who you are

And others will accept you

And in life you will go far.
